Syrian-British pianist Riyad Nicolas presents a captivating programme of piano masterpieces. The programme opens with Bach's remarkable Partita No. 2 in C minor, followed by Beethoven's fiery and dramatic Appassionata Sonata. Alongside these cornerstones of the repertoire, Riyad introduces a compelling contemporary contrast with Danse de Leila by Syrian-French composer Dia Succari—rich in rhythm and colour—and Etude No. 2 by Walid Al Hajjar, showcasing musical innovation from the Arab world.
