Roarminster: Warminster's Dinosaur Trail

About

Fun for all the family is ready to roar into Warminster this summer, with exciting dinosaur themed events scheduled as local businesses get ready to welcome visitors to 'Roarminster'.

Warminster Town Council has committed to a fun dinosaur trail with the town set to be transformed from Warminster to Roarminster with the installation of five dinosaur models at various locations.

The event trail will officially launch at a brand-new festival: Warminster YouthFest held in the Lake Pleasure Grounds on Saturday 11th July, with the dinosaur models remaining in the town until Saturday 5th September.
Visitors and residents will be encouraged to explore the town, find and learn about the different dinosaurs, enter a prize draw and take part in fun activities throughout the summer holidays.

The town will be decorated for the exciting arrivals, with shop windows decorated, plenty of photo opportunities and a selection of dinosaur books available to borrow at Warminster Library (Three Horseshoes Walk, Warminster, BA12 9BT).

Warminster Community Radio (WCR) will have a Roarminster focus including a competition to send in the best recording of a child roaring like a dinosaur.

The Malto Lounge (37 Market Place, Warminster, BA12 9AZ) will be serving a special dinosaur inspired cocktail to keep visitors refreshed during the event.

Additional activities include a dinosaur exhibition and film screening at Athenaeum Warminster, a dinosaur lecture and book signing from Professor Mike Benton at Warminster Civic Centre (Sambourne Road, Warminster, BA12 8LB) as well as a paleoart workshop for all ages, led by paleoartist for the BBC, Jay Balamurugan - with further exciting events and collaborations set to be announced shortly.

The Warminster Business Network will continue to work with local businesses, restaurants, pubs and cafes to help increase exposure and benefit all – with the whole of Warminster encouraged to support the event.

The dinosaur trail route will be fully covered by Warminster CCTV.
