Trio Paradis: Classical & Romantic Trios - His & Hers

The second in a new series of lunchtime concerts performed by Trio Paradis (Jacquelyn Bevan – piano, Lisa Betteridge – violin & Linda Stocks – cello) at Holy Trinity, at 10.45am on the first Thursday of every month. Entrance to the concerts is by donation, with a retiring collection. Refreshments (usually including home-made cakes) on sale. The concert lasts about 50 minutes.

September's concert is a collection of contrasting piano trio movements by male and female composers from the Classical and Romantic eras. Music includes Andantes from trios by both Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, 'Soir' by Mel Bonis, a rarely heard piece by local composer, Kate Loder (Thompson), a Scherzo by Cecile Chaminade, and trio movements by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
