After a year of virtual projects, the region's finest young musicians in the West of England Youth Orchestra come together to perform a glorious programme of powerful orchestral music. The concert opens with the fire and fury of Mahler's Totenfier from Symphony No. 2 and Mussorgsky's arresting song cycle. Shostakovich's dramatic Symphony No. 5 explores the full spectrum of human emotions from the darkness of the opening attack to the triumph of the grand finale.
