DVOŘÁK Cello Concerto in B minor Op 104
Somme100 FILM is an international project to mark the 100th anniversary of the WW1 Battle of the Somme. The Orchestra will perform Laura Rossi's acclaimed score commissioned by the Imperial War Museum as a live sound track to the 1916 film The Battle of the Somme. Young musicians of the Orchestra (formally the Wiltshire and Swindon Youth Orchestra) will be joined by pioneering cellist Matthew Sharp who regularly performs as a soloist with major UK orchestras, but is equally at home outside the concert hall and has given solo performances at the Glastonbury and Latitude festivals. Visit p34 for more details about the Regional Youth Orchestra.
"[Matthew Sharp] is a stunning cellist; one of the most exciting musicians of his generation" Mark-Anthony Turnage
