Tell us a bit about yourself and your role
My name is Hedge, and I am a Games Master at Salisbury Escape Rooms. I'm a graduate of Solent University, with a Batchelor of Arts in Popular Music. I also moonlight as a voice actor and narrator on Audible. As a Games Master, I run the Escape Room experience from beginning to end, starting with welcoming the players in, supervising the games, and saying farewell at the close.
What do you like best about your role?
Being able to invent a character to be the person the team interacts with is great fun! I remember an old TV show called Knightmare, which starred Hugo Myatt as Tregard, a medieval dungeon master, and I really liked the idea of that performance style. It's partially scripted and partially improvised, which means I never get bored.

Where are your favourite places to visit in Wiltshire and why?
Avoncliff. It's a small village in West Wiltshire. It's close to the railway line so it's really easy to get to by train. Plus, it's a beautiful place to get away from the intensity of the city now and again. If you're into travelling by water, the Avon Aqueduct goes through the village, so canal barges can be seen chugging across it now and again.
Where’s your favourite Wiltshire picnic spot?
Salisbury Cathedral - especially in the summer. There's plenty of trees for shade, and it's a gorgeous piece of architecture to enjoy. Gothic art is one of my favourite forms of expression, so to have something so close to me which is a great example of the style; it's no secret that it's the perfect place for me.
Where are your favourite places to eat out in Wiltshire and why?
The Cross Guns in Westwood Parish. It's a 16th Century pub which looks over the River Avon. It has a huge garden due to the close proximity to the water, and it's a really nice setting to spend some time in. Old inns are a great example of the timeline of the British Isles, and something like this is a wonderful history lesson as well as a great place for quality food.
