From family days out to kids’ arts and craft, there are plenty of things to do in Wiltshire this Half Term! Explore all that this county has to offer, with its range of school holiday activities and events, or simply make the most of Half Term with a trip to some of Wiltshire’s iconic attractions. There is fun for everyone this holiday!

This year, February Half Term takes place from Monday 16 – Friday 20. Check out a few of our top events taking place this week.

Explore Wiltshire’s Museums

Wiltshire is home to a range of museums showcasing the county’s fascinating local history. Discover prehistoric items from Avebury and Stonehenge at Wiltshire Museum in Devizes, or learn more about Wiltshire’s heritage at Chippenham Museum, telling the story of the historic market town, and Trowbridge Museum, shedding light on the woollen industry that grew in the town.

Un/Common People, New Exhibition at Salisbury Museum

Open from now until May is Salisbury Museum’s brand new exhibition; ‘Un/Common People’. This exhibit redefines the term ‘commoner’ by showcasing the extraordinary creativity found in regional folk culture.

Curated by Simon Costin and Mellany Robinson from The Museum of British Folklore, and Amy de la Haye from the London College of Fashion, ‘Un/Common People’ features a remarkable collection of more than 100 objects, many of which have not been on public display before!

Half Term Activities at REME Museum

Head to REME Museum to enjoy a range of workshops and craft activities this half term:

  • LEGO® Engineering Workshops – Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 February. Unleash your inner engineer and build a vehicle from LEGO® that will actually drive!
  • 'Build a Tank' Junk Modelling – Thursday 19 February. Come and create your own special REME-inspired vehicle to take away with you!
  • Magnus Flyers Workshops - Friday 20 February. Discover the phenomenon known as the 'Magnus Effect' as you learn how to turn plastic cups into a gliding object flying through the air!
  • Miniature Assault Course - every day Tuesday - Friday, 10.00 - 15.00. Take on the miniature army-style assault course!

Forties February Half Term at Army Flying Museum

Step back in time this half term, with a visit to Army Flying Museum! Enjoy a week of immersive, family-friendly activities inspired by the life of the Home Front during the Second World War. Explore how families lived, cooked, worked and entertained themselves during wartime Britain through a variety of hands-on experiences and live demonstrations.

Family Nature Trails in Wiltshire

You can’t visit Wiltshire without enjoying the stunning landscapes it has to offer! From stately home gardens and National Trust properties to colourful arboretums, make the most of the great outdoors with these Half Term activities!

Room on the Broom Trail at Westonbirt Arboretum

Join Witch and her friends on an enchanting adventure at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum. This interactive family trail is packed with Room on the Broom themed activities, fascinating forest facts and plenty of hands-on fun!

February Half Term at Lacock

Head to the National Trust site of Lacock and explore the stunning grounds as you hunt for flowers throughout the gardens and woodland. Pick up your free trail flower count spotter’s sheet from the Visitor Reception before entering.

The Curious Case of the Missing Acorns at Stourhead

Someone has stolen Squirrel’s nuts! This children’s mystery trail at Stourhead will take you through the breath-taking gardens in search for clues to help Squirrel find the culprit. Pick up your free trail booklet at the Visitor Reception!

Half Term at Wiltshire’s Iconic Attractions

Wiltshire boasts a range of both ancient and modern attractions, perfect for all ages to visit this half term. Discover more about these iconic landmarks as you enjoy their fun-filled half term activities.

February Half Term at Avebury

Enjoy a range of family-friendly activities this half term at Avebury. For an outdoor adventure, pick up a free Wild Winter Spotter Trail sheet from the barn in the farmyard and see how many birds, plants, animals and seasonal sights you can tick off!

Arts and Craft will also be available in the barn and a small spotter trail will take place in the Alexander Keiller Museum. There are also a hidden number of robins in and around the museum displays. Can you spot them all during your visit?

Medieval Graffiti Children’s Trail at Salisbury Cathedral

Uncover the hidden marks and stories of Salisbury Cathedral this half term! Head out on a Medieval Graffiti Trail, with your very own explorer bag (featuring a torch, magnifying glass and rule), and investigate eight discovery points around the Cathedral.

Each stop features an information board and a handmade replica of medieval graffiti created by one of the stonemasons, allowing you to explore by touch while helping protect the historic stonework.

LEGO® Brick Week at Longleat

2026 marks 60 years since Longleat’s iconic Drive-Through Safari was opened to the public and to kick off this special anniversary year, visitors can celebrate the joy and delight of letting your imagination loose with LEGO® Brick Week!

Dive into a world of wonder in The Longhouse as you become brick artists, creating models to add to the giant Brick Safari masterpiece. Will you make a majestic tiger, or a colourful lorikeet?
