After two decades of connecting travellers from around the world with the paths less trodden via Foot Trails, I felt a familiar tug. The desire to show off the truly spectacular corners of South West England—Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, and the beautiful Cotswolds—but in a new, relaxed, and incredibly personal way. That’s why, in January 2026, David Howell and I launched Drive and Stroll!

Set to revolutionise the way people can explore, think of it as the perfect road trip, but one where you can truly switch off and let two locals (that’s us!) take the wheel. Our tours are designed for 1 to 6 guests, making them wonderfully intimate.

The Best of Both Worlds:  Drive and Stroll

The name says it all. We blend the best of both worlds: comfortable, scenic drives through stunning landscapes, villages and market towns, punctuated by short, enjoyable and manageable strolls. These aren't strenuous hikes—we're talking about 30 to 60 minutes of enjoyable movement. It’s the perfect amount of time to stretch your legs, feel the grass beneath your feet, and truly breathe in the place.

Imagine wandering through a small honey-coloured Cotswold village, calling into the centuries-old pub for a drink, or standing on a windswept hill in Dorset with the Jurassic Coast stretching out before you. These are the moments you can't get from a bus window.

Yes, we can absolutely take you to the magnificent icons—Stonehenge is a must-see! But what truly excites us is sharing our secret spots. After 30 years living, working, and exploring this region, David and I know the back roads, the hidden market towns, and the villages that don't even feature in the big guidebooks or on Google. Want to escape the crowds and see the real, everyday beauty of rural South West England? That's our specialty.

• A delicious pub lunch with a drink at one of our personally handpicked, historic country pubs.
