Larkhill Choral Society are delighted to be performing the Christmas Section of Handel's Messiah in their Christmas Concert on the 5th of December this year.
We will be welcoming four professional soloists in what promises to be an evening of glorious music making.
In addition to the First Part of Messiah we will be singing a variety of other Christmas Carols and Songs, and will be encouraging audience participation in some well known Christmas favourites.
Larkhill Choral Society is a choir that started in the 1960s with the idea of both military and non military people singing together. Today some of our members are ex-military but most are people from communities on or around Salisbury plain who love to get together and sing.
During its history there have been a number of conductors, our latest being Simon Irwin who will be leading us for the December concert. Simon is a professional singer and conductor based at Winchester Cathedral, and he also directs two other choirs in Hampshire.
In the interval we will be offering our usual complimentary buffet and drinks can be purchased both before the concert and during the interval.
