ogs and their owners are invited to a party raising money to support street dogs.
Local charity Lucas Helps Dogs is holding the event at The Anchor and Hope on Winchester Street, on Saturday 17 February from 6pm.
It will include a doggy kissing booth, puppicinos, treats for dogs and their owners, auction, raffle, selfie-station, doggy stall, singer, talk from former police dog handler and more.
Charity Lucas Helps Dogs carries out spay, neuter and rabies vaccination clinics, along with emergency treatments to help the some six million dogs living on the streets in Sri Lanka.
Last year it sterilised and vaccinated nearly 400 dogs and cats and funded emergency treatment for 10 animals and cancer treatment for 15. Some 100 dogs have been treated for painful skin conditions, and it carries out a feeding round for local dogs.
Founder Alena Warburton said: "This is our first solo event and we are really hoping lots of people and their dogs will turn out to support us. Every penny we raise is used to carry out our work in Sri Lanka.
"We have an employee and vet team on the ground who carry out our spay and neuter clinics, and the regular trips we make to carry out mass clinics are completely self-funded.
"It's a real labour of love but these are such special dogs who live a life of misery on Sri Lanka's dangerous roads.
"We really hope as many people and their dogs as possible will turn out to enjoy our first event and support a great cause."
