Coming from Marlborough
Leave Marlborough on the A4 heading West.
After approximately 2.5 miles you will pass a fuel station on your right, about 300 yards after this near the top of the hill turn left sign posted 'Lockeridge' and 'Upper Fyfiled'. Continue to follow this road through the two small villages and for approx 5 miles. The Road will drop down a hill, on the very edge of the village of Alton Priors take the right hand turning sign posted 'Devizes', 'Stanton St Bernard, and 'All Cannings'. Follow this road for approximately a mile ignoring the first left hand turning for Stanton St Bernard and taking the second left also signposted 'Stanton St Bernard'. At the first sharp bend by the first house you pass indicate right and head straight on. Thus follow lane thorugh the trees and follow it around to the right, Old Dairy Cottage will be in front of you, Parking is the entrance side of the house.
Coming from Devizes
Leave the centre of Devizes on London Road A361 heading East. At the roundabout after B&Q take the 3rd exit, sign posted for 'Horton' and 'Bishops Cannings' onto Horton Road. Follow this road for approximately 4.5 miles thorugh the villages of Horton and Allington. At the first signpost for the village 'Stanton St Bernard' turn right. At the first sharp bend by the first house you pass indicate right and head straight on. Thus follow lane thorugh the trees and follow it around to the right, Old Dairy Cottage will be in front of you, Parking is the entrance side of the house.
Coming from the A303
Exit the A303 at 'Countess Roundabout' (Amesbury) taking the exit sign posted for 'Pewsey', 'Upavon', 'Durrington' and 'Devizes' onto the A345 heading North. In 1.2 miles at the roundabout take the second exit continuing on the A345 for 'Pewsey', 'Upavon' and 'Netheravon'. Continue to follow the road for 7.2 miles until you reach a T Junction at Upavon. At the T junction turn right handed and 100 yards afterwards at the following T Junction turn left, sign posted for 'Marlborough' and 'Pewsey' on the A345. In 1.3 miles at the Woodbridge Inn Roundabout take the second exit for 'Woodborough' and Hilcott'. Warning: some Sat Navs will try and take you down a dirt road which is not suitable for cars, please follow the instructions below. Follow this road for approximately 4.5 miles through Hilcott and Woodborough. At Honeystreet you will go pver ta canal bridge anfter about 400-500 yards enter Alton Barnes, towards the end of Alton Barnes turn left sign posted for 'Devizes', 'Stanton St Benrard' and 'All Cannings'. Follow this road for approximately a mile ignoring the first left hand turning for Stanton St Bernard and taking the second left also signposted 'Stanton St Bernard'. At the first sharp bend by the first house you pass indicate right and head straight on. Thus follow lane thorugh the trees and follow it around to the right, Old Dairy Cottage will be in front of you, Parking is the entrance side of the house.
Public Transport Directions
Buses There is a local bus service which runs between Pewsey and Devizes (Bus 101/102) where connections to other bus services are available. This service has to be booked prior to travel otherwise the bus will bypass the village.
Trains The nearest train station is Pewsey (approx. 6 miles) for London Paddington and the Southwest (Plymouth). The alternative is Swindon (approx. 20 miles) for London Paddington, Bristol, Wales and the Southwest. Swindon has a taxi rank outside while pewsey will require prior booking from a Taxi service (try Devizes taxis or Cobra Cabs).
