About
With outstanding views over the Wiltshire countryside Hillside Cottage is, as its name suggests, perched on the northern edge of Salisbury Plain. Like a beloved family home, subtly appointed with all the amenities found in a larger hotel setting it’s a hidden gem on the edge of the historic village of Edington.
Hillside Cottage has six ensuite guest bedrooms with steam shower bathrooms, a living room with fireplace, an eat-in kitchen with dining table and a private patio for outdoor dining and BBQs. Create your own meals with ingredients from the neighbouring Three Daggers Farm Shop or allow us to arrange a private chef, freeing up your time to explore the historic English countryside or simply relax. A short path above the cottage leads you past a croquet lawn and a boules court, to a small barn disguising both a wet and dry sauna with an outdoor plunge pool and hot tub in front. The views from this particular hot tub are incredible. A few more steps along the path you’ll find Trailhead Cabin housing a small kitchen with fridge, wood burning stove, a dartboard, games, and an outdoor fire pit where you can watch the sun go down over Edington.
The award-winning Three Daggers Pub and Brewery is just across the road. Named English Pub of the Year 2019-2020, the Three Daggers Brewery itself has earned silver and bronze SIBA accolades for their locally brewed beers. Next door to the pub is the Three Daggers Farm Shop where you can stock up on everything you need for breakfast, a picnic or a night enjoying what Hillside Cottage has to offer.
There are a whole host of activities on offer at Hillside and the Three Daggers. We can arrange for mountain bike guides, clay shooting, foraging lessons, yoga sessions, massages, or even the story of the Battle of Edington to be recounted around the firepit. Hillside Cottage is in close proximity to Westbury Whitehorse, Stonehenge, Avebury and the city of Bath making it the perfect launching point for terrific sightseeing and local history.
We fully understand if at the end of your stay you don’t want to leave.
