About

The Queen’s Head has a charming interior with many original features such as flagstone flooring and a cosy inglenook fireplace with a large wood burner that is lit all through the winter. Outside there is a lovely leafy courtyard garden to the rear and a summer beer garden in the wild meadow across the road with tables forged from trees felled from the Fonthill Estate.

Four cosy and comfortable rooms sit in the annexe; two on the ground floor and two on the first floor. Each is clad in neutral shades and textures, with materials and furniture from local suppliers and antique markets.

Guests can expect hotel-style comforts, but you’re staying in a pub, so let your hair down a little too. Retreat to bed at the end of the night and wake up to a hearty complimentary breakfast.

There are plenty of good rambles, cycle routes and local places to visit. Guests can step off on foot from our doorstep to explore the rolling chalk downs within the Cranborne Chase AONB and the winding streets of Broad Chalke lined with thatched cottages, chalk streams and watercress beds. It’s easy to see how Broad Chalke made the Sunday Times’ best places to live list 2023.

Within a short distance guests can reach Salisbury’s historic centre with plenty of eateries and shops and the infamous Cathedral holding the Magna Carta, Messums Wiltshire Art Gallery, Wilton House and Stonehenge.
