Top Ways to Celebrate the Festive Season at Basset Down

It’s starting to feel very Christmassy at Basset Down Complex; the decorations are up, the lights are twinkling and everyone is gearing up for an exciting month ahead!

From their popular Christmas Market to Festive Afternoon Teas, indulgent seasonal menus and gift ideas, there’s plenty to enjoy with friends, family, or colleagues at Basset Down. Whether you’re planning a festive meal out, looking for unique presents, or just want to get into the Christmas spirit, here’s 6 ways you can celebrate:

1. Christmas Cupcake Decorating Workshop

We’re delighted to be partnering with Emma's Kitchen to host a festive Christmas Cupcake Decorating Workshop here at Basset Down on Wednesday 10th December, 18:00 - 19:30. 

If you’re looking for a cosy, creative evening with friends, family, or simply some relaxing ‘you time’, this workshop is the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit. Enjoy a fun, informal session where you’ll learn how to decorate your own box of six beautifully festive cupcakes.

2. Basset Down's Festive Afternoon Tea

If you’re after something a little more relaxed, Festive Afternoon Tea is available Thursday–Saturday until 3rd January. For £27.50pp, enjoy festive sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, sweet treats (yes, including mince pies!), freshly baked scones, and crackers too. The restaurant is fully decked out for the season, with gorgeous views over the North Chalk Downs — perfect for unwinding.

3. Christmas Menus

Their festive menus are now being served daily for breakfast, lunch, and on Thursday–Saturday evenings from 24th November – 4th January (closed Christmas Day). Expect seasonal flavours, indulgent favourites, and a separate Winter Menu if you’re after something non-festive.

If you're after an activity that gets everyone smiling, their Disc Golf courses are a brilliant choice — easy to learn, fun for all ages, and great in the fresh air. They also have Footgolf and Toptracer driving range (all undercover, so perfect whatever the weather). Free club hire for kids, festive challenges, and fun competitions make it great for groups big or small.
