It’s starting to feel very Christmassy at Basset Down Complex; the decorations are up, the lights are twinkling and everyone is gearing up for an exciting month ahead!
From their popular Christmas Market to Festive Afternoon Teas, indulgent seasonal menus and gift ideas, there’s plenty to enjoy with friends, family, or colleagues at Basset Down. Whether you’re planning a festive meal out, looking for unique presents, or just want to get into the Christmas spirit, here’s 6 ways you can celebrate:
1. Christmas Market at Basset Down Complex
Basset Down Complex Christmas Market is back THIS WEEK and it’s bigger than ever, with two dates to choose from. Friday 28th November, 5–9pm (the perfect after-work shopping trip!) and Saturday 29th November, 11am–4pm. Soak up the festive atmosphere whilst browsing for unique gifts with a variety of local stallholders. Plus, the restaurant will be open both days, serving a range of festive food and drinks to keep you full and fuelled while you explore! (Pre-booking recommended)
Take a look at which stallholders will be at our market and further details here.

2. Basset Down's Festive Afternoon Tea
If you’re after something a little more relaxed, Festive Afternoon Tea is available Thursday–Saturday until 3rd January. For £27.50pp, enjoy festive sandwiches, homemade sausage rolls, sweet treats (yes, including mince pies!), freshly baked scones, and crackers too. The restaurant is fully decked out for the season, with gorgeous views over the North Chalk Downs — perfect for unwinding.
3. Christmas Menus
Their festive menus are now being served daily for breakfast, lunch, and on Thursday–Saturday evenings from 24th November – 4th January (closed Christmas Day). Expect seasonal flavours, indulgent favourites, and a separate Winter Menu if you’re after something non-festive.
Got a larger group? Our private dining room is ideal for gatherings of 20+ and makes celebrations feel extra special. Take a look at the menus and book a table when you’re ready.
4. Give the Gift of Basset Down
Looking for a thoughtful present? Basset Down's Gift Vouchers can be used for everything — afternoon tea, the restaurant, golf, footgolf, disc golf, the driving range… you name it. Pick one up at reception, or give a call to arrange delivery.
5. Try Something New: Disc Golf, Footgolf & Toptracer
If you're after an activity that gets everyone smiling, their Disc Golf courses are a brilliant choice — easy to learn, fun for all ages, and great in the fresh air. They also have Footgolf and Toptracer driving range (all undercover, so perfect whatever the weather). Free club hire for kids, festive challenges, and fun competitions make it great for groups big or small.
6. Celebrate All Season Long
Basset Down Complex is open throughout Christmas week — including Christmas Eve and Boxing Day (closed only on Christmas Day). Whether it’s a festive brunch, a swing on the range, or a family outing, be sure to experience it at Basset Down this festive season!
