Summer Solstice
It’s that time of year again where we welcome the Summer Solstice celebrations, marking the longest day of the year.
Not only can you watch live from Stonehenge, as thousands gather for one of the most iconic experiences, but there is a range of events taking place across the county. Why not wonder through Avebury Stone Circle, where you can get up close to the stones as you explore the stunning countryside that surrounds. At nearly 4,500 years old, Avebury creates a spectacular display during the Summer Solstice and is best enjoyed during sunrise.

Lacock by Martin Parr
A new photography exhibition is coming to Lacock this month. Known worldwide for his wry observations of ordinary Britons and British life, 2025 saw the return of Martin Parr to a place that shaped him early in his career. In the 1980s his photos of Lacock further developed the distinctive documentary style that brought him international acclaim.
Four decades on, Lacock by Martin Parr brings the story full circle. This exhibition opens at the Fox Talbot Museum at Lacock Abbey on 27 June 2026 and runs for a full year.
