1. Lacock village

Walk around the medieval streets of Lacock village. There’s a dog walking area in the National Trust car park, plus nearby walks in the countryside. During the winter season dogs are welcome in the Abbey Grounds.

2. The Peto Gardens at Iford Manor

Dogs on leads are welcome in the Peto gardens of Iford Manor, near Bradford on Avon. Your four-legged friends are also welcome in the outside seating area of the tearoom.

3. Abbey House Gardens

Dogs are welcome on a short lead at the stunning 5 acre gardens at Abbey House. 

4. The grounds of Crofton Beam Engines

Dogs are welcome in the grounds of Crofton Beam Engines, near Marlborough. There are some enjoyable walks nearby too including along the tow path of the Kennet & Avon Canal. Only assistance dogs are allowed in the Engine House and Café.

5. Old Sarum

Dogs are allowed in the castle at Old Sarum on a lead. The outer bailey is a popular dog-walking area for local residents too.

6. Ludgershall Castle

Explore the ruins of Ludgershall Castle on the edge of Salisbury Plain. Dogs are welcome here on leads. There are further walks into nearby Collingbourne Woods that can also be enjoyed.

7. Avebury Stone Circle

Walk around parts of the World Heritage Site on a visit to Avebury. Dogs on leads are welcome within the stone circle and longer walks into the Avebury landscape can also be enjoyed.

8. Stourhead

At set times of the day during the summer months and all day, every day from December to February dogs on leads are allowed in the landscape garden of Stourhead. The wider Stourhead estate is accessible for owners with dogs all year around.

Well behaved dogs are allowed in Salisbury Cathedral 

10. Lydiard Park

Dogs are allowed into the grounds of Lydiard Park, on the outskirts of Swindon. The walled gardens are not accessible for dogs.
