About

The Royal Oak is a wonderful blend of traditional 18th century architecture with a fresh stylish modern twist. There are log fires, a large garden and traditional wooden games for all the family.

Head Chef Danny Du Rose and his team of amazing chefs are passionate about creating delicious dishes using locally sourced, hand selected seasonal ingredients. With a wonderful menu inspired by our former Chef Patron and good friend Mark Treasure, who a decade ago earned a Michelin star at the Feathers in Woodstock. Danny and the team take sourcing quality local produce seriously - only traditionally reared traceable meats, with free-range poultry, game from neighbouring estates, and local organic herbs and vegetables.

Menus change on a regular basis and feature a daily special at each course for example - confit chicken, duck, onion and thyme terrine: roast stone bass and trout, horseradish, courgettes and buckwheat: white chocolate mousse, toffee and almonds. With regular special offers and events such as Fish and Chips on Fridays and the popular monthly quiz, it's popular with both locals and visitors.
