The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust has been in existence for more than 50 years.
At Devizes we have our Head Quarters, Canal side Museum, Boat trips, Café and gift shop.
Our Canal Museum:
Situated on Devizes Wharf the Museum is above the Trusts main office in a building that was originally a canal side bonded warehouse.
Visitors of the museum can discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway, its construction, use and subsequent demise and the work done in recent times to restore it.
Our aim is to keep the museum open most days but as a voluntary based organisation this is not always possible so please telephone or visit our website for more up to date information.
Café and Souvenir Shop:
Our Café and Souvenir shop above the Head Quarters office is open 7 days per week from 10.00 – 16.00 a perfect place to get a Drink and homemade cakes, Hot and cold food also available.
Kenavon Venture Trip Boat:
Based at Devizes Wharf next to the Trust Head Quarters and Museum.
The boat is 60ft long and 10ft wide with large viewing windows.
It is heated and carpeted and has a licenced bar, refreshments and toilet facilities.
There is comfortable seating for up to 45 passengers.
It is crewed entirely by volunteers who will endeavour to make your cruise as enjoyable as possible.
We operate from 29th March to End of October with public trips every Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays leaving at 14.30.
We also runs special themed trips including Cream Tea, Jazz Evenings, Traditional Music cruises, Experience Some Locks (Caen Hill), View the Flight Special (Caen Hill), throughout the summer and Santa Cruises during December.
The Boat is also available for Private Charter for that special occasion, Family reunion, Birthday Parties Wedding Receptions Club outings, catering can be arranged please call for details.
