Seduction and corruption abound when the unprincipled Marquise de Merteuil and Vicomte de Valmont, her ex-lover, plot the conquest of two women, the virgin Cécile de Volanges and the chaste Madame de Tourvel. In amusing themselves with this challenge, their relationship inevitably turns to destroying each other.
