'The most fun I have all week'
Three terms of 5 week blocks at the Cause Arts Centre, Causeway Chippenham to help newcomers find out if it's something they want to continue.
Beginners 6 – 7.30pm (Improvers 7.30 -9pm)
Drama Workshops with their basis in improvisation and devising but including script – delivered by Laura.
If you're not sure what you want, but are keen to see if it's for you, come along and try a session or a 5 week block. It may be that you used to act but have lost your knack so would like to start slower, or maybe you just haven't done that much but want to give it a go. Whatever your reason, this session will start a bit slower and break you in gently. (£12 drop in if you don't want to sign up to a term yet)
You'll explore scenes, develop strong characters then improvise the content with some idea of the outcomes – Mike Leigh style. Some of our short form games are like 'Who's line is it anyway' if you're old enough to remember that!
If you have always wanted to try some acting, but are not sure that you want to commit, just pop in and do the bits that you want to, or just come and watch a session. We'd love you to join us – and can guarantee that you'll meet some brilliant and supportive people along the way.
Term 1: Monday 22nd September – October 20th 2025
Term 2: (Option to join the improvers group 7.30-9pm – Monday November 3rd – December 1st)
Term 3 : Monday 5th January – Feb 2nd 2026
Term 4: (Option to join the improvers group 7.30-9pm – 23rd February – March 23rd 2026)
Term 5: Monday April 13th – May 18th 2026
Term 6: (Option to join the improvers group 7.30-9pm – June 1st – June 29th 2026
(Thursday evening Improv Slams also running at the Old Road Tavern 7.30 – 9pm £12 drop in on second Thursday of the month. No booking needed )
