Bring a blanket, gather your friends, and enjoy an uplifting afternoon of music and movement on the Cathedral lawns. Whether you're discovering South Asian arts for the first time or already a big fan, this is a chance to experience extraordinary talent in a relaxed, welcoming setting.

Rakhi Sood — Dance Artist & Choreographer
A dynamic performer and teacher, Rakhi brings the grace of Kathak, the energy of Bollywood, and the vibrancy of Bhangra to the stage. Trained in classical dance and sitar from an early age, she is known for her innovative teaching style and her ability to connect audiences with the joy and storytelling of Indian dance.

Dr Pooja Angra — Vocalist
One of the UK's most celebrated Indian classical and semi‑classical vocalists, Pooja's mellifluous voice has captivated audiences from All India Radio to the BBC, from the Nehru Centre to festivals across the UK. With a PhD in Indian music and a career spanning Hindustani classical, devotional, Sufi, Bollywood, ghazal and Punjabi folk traditions, she brings depth, artistry and emotional resonance to every performance.

Karan Rana — Tabla Percussionist
Karan Rana is an accomplished Hindustani classical vocalist and Tabla player whose musical journey began at the age of five. Trained by some of India's most renowned maestros, Karan's artistry is defined by a rare combination of melodic grace and rhythmic precision.

A prodigy in the Indian classical circuit, Karan made his debut on All India Radio's (AIR) "Bal Jagat" at age 12, followed by regular Bhajan recitals on Jalandhar Doordarshan by age 16. His vocal prowess has earned him significant acclaim, including top honors at the prestigious 125th and 128th Harballabh Sangeet Sammelan and featured performances at the Malhaar Utsav. Known for his versatile and emotive voice, Karan has become a respected figure in musical circles for his dedication to the purity of the Hindustani tradition.

In addition to his vocal accomplishments, Karan is a highly skilled Tabla player, having commenced his training at the age of six. This deep-rooted rhythmic foundation allows him to bring a unique perspective to his performances. As an accompanist, he has shared the stage with a diverse array of vocalists and instrumentalists, including masters of the Flute and Veena. His ability to weave together the intricate patterns of the Tabla with melodic structures makes him a truly multi-faceted performer.

Now based in Edinburgh, Karan continues to represent the rich heritage of Indian Classical music across the United Kingdom. He is a frequent performer at renowned festivals and concert halls, where he captivates audiences with his dual mastery of voice and percussion.
