About
Avlon Entertainment presents the biggest stars of tomorrow … today! January's line-up includes Stuart Law, the comedy scene's brightest polymath, character comedian Lorna Rose Treen, award-winning comedy writer Heidi Regan, and failed musician turned comedian Josh Weller.
Stuart Laws
Stuart is the comedy scene's brightest polymath. A comedian, actor, director and writer, Stuart performs sketch comedy and stand-up comedy. He supported James Acaster on tour, has performed multiple shows at Soho Theatre and was nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival 2021.
"You'll struggle to find a comedian with a better jokes per minute rate… like a one-man episode of Arrested Development" Fest
Lorna Rose Treen
Lorna Rose Treen is an award-winning character comedian, writer, actor and improviser, whose arrival on the scene has been remarkable.
Over the summer of 2023, Lorna made her much anticipated Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut at The Pleasance Courtyard with her nonsensical escapist character show – SKIN PIGEON – to absolutely rave reviews, with five stars from The Telegraph, who wrote: "Skin Pigeon is a gloriously daft hour from one of the most exciting young comics around."
Lorna won Dave's inaugural Funniest Joke of the Fringe, becoming the second woman to scoop the title.
"I laughed so much I violently bit my tongue" Independent
Heidi Regan
With more than a decade's experience as a comedy writer, Heidi enjoyed a meteoric rise through the stand-up comedy ranks. She has won two of the most coveted prizes in comedy; the So You Think You're Funny? title at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2016, following in the footsteps of comedians including Peter Kay, Aisling Bea, Alan Carr and Lee Mack, before scooping the BBC New Comedy Award prize in 2017. She has since gigged around the world, including performances at the prestigious Just For Laughs in Montreal and tour support for Joe Lycett, Phil Wang and Milton Jones.
"Multitude of laugh-out-loud moments" ★★★★★ Scottish Daily Mail
"I was in literal tears of laughter several times over" ★★★★★ Young Perspective
Josh Weller
Recently hand picked by Fred Armisen to be his opener, Josh Weller is a failed musician turned comedian, viral content maker, comic book author and podcast host. He was born in England, raised in Malaysia and now lives in London.
As seen on ITV2 Stand Up Sketch Show, Weller's high energy brand of cleverly self-deprecating stand-up landed him on pro bills after just one year on the circuit. In addition to his live comedy work, Josh has developed a loyal fanbase for his viral musical videos and online content, with views in the millions which includes mockumentaries, sketches, professional trolling, animated stand-up comedy shorts, character work, and more. His 2020 mockumentary 'The U2 Taken Paradox' has had over a million views and angered legions of loyal U2 fans.
