About
Fonthill House is opening its gardens on Sunday 26th April between 12pm and 5pm in aid of the National Garden Scheme.
There are formal areas, an ornamental and organic kitchen garden, and mixed planting of shrubs and herbaceous perennials, bulbs, and annuals. There is also a small selection of old and new sculptures, including a water feature by William Pye. To the north of the house, there are wonderful woodland walks with azaleas, magnolias, camellias, rhododendrons, sweet chestnuts, and tall, majestic oaks. (Unfortunately, there is restricted wheelchair access in some areas.)
By visiting, you'll be supporting the National Garden Scheme, which provides unique access to over 3,500 private gardens across the UK while raising vital funds for nursing and health charities.
Visitors can enjoy teas, coffees, empanadas, sandwiches, cakes, and other delights, alongside a wine bar and the much-loved Baboo Gelato ice creams.
We very much hope you'll join us for plants, gardens, inspiration, and a truly special day out.
