Just finished school and looking for more independence? This class will teach you everything you need to know about the kitchen. You'll learn how to cook with deliciously fresh ingredients, use different chopping methods and explore flavours. Gretchen will teach you how to keep safe with Kitchen Hygiene & Food safety. Cook alongside other students, eat what you make and have a laugh!
Here is how we will put the skills into practice..
Eggs: The students will make an omelette as their first task which they can enjoy for a snack
Knife Skills: We will make a small Stirfry to use the vegetables we used for chopping practice
Tomato Based Sauce: Make a Bolognaise Sauce as an example of a Tomato Based Sauce
Roux: Create a White Sauce from scratch using the Roux method and together with the Bolognaise sauce they will use this to make a Lasagne to bring home
Noodle Pots: Lunch will be one of these quick, and nutritious pots that can include a variety of ingredients and also demonstrates how to thicken a sauce using cornflour
Pricing: £100 per Pod which is suitable for 2 Young Adults (£50.00 per person)
