As the nights begin to draw in, now’s the perfect time to enjoy some of our evening entertainment or take part in some of our warming activities. Here are ten highlights that you can enjoy here in Wiltshire during October:

1. Peacock Arts Trail

The Wiltshire town of Corsham will play host to the annual Peacock Arts Trail bringing with it open studio events around the town. Organised by the Pound arts centre, this is a free event running from 30 September until 8 October. 

2. Autumn Classic 

Head to Castle Combe Circuit and see legendary cars and some spectacular racing at this year’s Autumn Classic event taking place on 7 October. 

3. Great Western Brick Show 

Lovers of Lego should head to the Great Western Brick Show at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway on the weekend of 7-8 October. A great day out for families in the fantastic setting of this museum. 

Marlborough Mop Fair

4. Marlborough’s Big & Little Mop Fair

This year’s Big and Little Mop Fair brings with it all the fun of the fair to Marlborough’s historic High Street on 7 and 14 October. 

5. Juanita’s Kitchen at Vaughan’s Cookery School

MasterChef 2016 finalist Juanita will be returning to Vaughan’s Cookery School to run another cookery workshop celebrating summer.

6. Practical Photography Workshops

Sally Edwards will be running another of her popular Practical Photography Workshops from her studio in Britford, near Salisbury. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to get off automatic mode and all the tricks of your camera then this is a great workshop for you. 

7. Mere Literary Festival

Author visits, writing workshops and a film workshop are all events that make part of the Mere Literary Festival. The week of events starts from 9 October. 

8. Flowers and Food – Pumpkin Workshop

Combine a night of seasonal flower arranging and a themed dish for your dinner at the Farm Cookery School at Bromham on 18 October. Tickets are £60 and include an evening meal. 

9. Equestrian Jumping Clinic

Hone your equestrian skills at an Equestrian Jumping Clinic at Lucknam Park Hotel. Led by Stephen Hadley, the clinic will focus on striding, related differences and jumping a course. 

10. 1920s Jazz Age exhibition of Fashion and Photographs

October is the last chance to catch the 1920s Jazz Age exhibition of Fashion and Photographs at the American Museum in Britain which is due to close on 29 October. Discover America in the 1920s. Featuring over 100 fashion objects.
