The Old Mill at Harnham

When it’s a warm day, what’s better than to sit outside over a lazy lunch with a glass of something chilled? If the weather’s looking promising then why not check out some of the following spots where you can enjoy some alfresco dining in and around Salisbury:

The Old Mill at Harnham

Take a stroll across the Town Path from Queen Elizabeth Gardens and after a short while you will arrive at The Old Mill (pictured at the top of this page). This historic pub has a wealth of period features and you can even see the water flowing underneath from within the restaurant area. Outside, there is a beer garden to the rear with picnic benches where you can enjoy a pub lunch. At the front of the pub there is also some seating where you’ll find many a friendly soaking up the views too.

The Old Ale and Coffee House

Who needs the beach when you can sit in a beach hut within the courtyard of The Old Ale and Coffee House on Crane Street? Here you will also find garden games, an outdoor bar and screenings of popular sporting events. 

The Rivers Edge at the Legacy Rose and Crown Hotel

As the name suggests, this restaurant sits beside the River Avon with outstanding views over to Salisbury Cathedral. A great spot for afternoon tea and a popular choice as a wedding venue too. 

The Ox Row Inn

Overlooking the Market Place, the Ox Row Inn’s outdoor area is the perfect area to take in the sights of the regular Charter Markets and all the comings and goings of this busy square. Plus, you can expect a warm welcome, tasty food and some great real ales. 

The Cosy Club

This quirky pub/bar is not too far from Salisbury Cathedral and includes an ecclectic decor. The Cosy Club has a courtyard terrace is found at the rear of the property where you can enjoy a spot of brunch, lunch, dinner or perhaps even a cocktail or two.
