About
Avebury Manor reopens to visitors with a brand-new experience titled 'Avebury as Home'.
The new experience invites visitors to explore the manor not simply as a historic house, but as a place shaped by the people who lived and worked there.
It presents Avebury Manor as a home across the centuries, from Tudor courtiers and farming families to archaeologists, servants, and children.
The experience also looks outward, placing the manor within the wider setting of the village and the UNESCO World Heritage Site, with contributions from residents living in Avebury today.
Extensive conservation and restoration work has been carried out in the house following a significant flood in 2024.
Specialist contractors also uncovered past adaptations and physical traces of previous owners during the work.
These elements have been included in the new experience alongside stories, objects, audio, interactive moments and play spaces for younger visitors to explore.
Avebury Manor is open daily from 11am-5pm, with last entry to the house at 4pm.
