Every July, the village of Sherston in Wiltshire comes alive with colour, laughter, and lively competition of the Sherston Boules Festival.
This much-loved local tradition is a week-long celebration of community spirit, French flair, and summer fun with this year's Boules Festival taking place on Saturday 12th July.
Teams compete in friendly matches played right on the village high street, transformed into a series of makeshift pétanque pistes.
There's so much more than boules – the day is packed with live music, food and drink stalls, games, and family-friendly activities for children.
A charming pop-up French café offers baguettes and sweet treats, while the ever-popular crêpe stall brings a delicious taste of France.
The event is free to attend, with parking available on the edge of the village.
