As the UK celebrated the National Year of Reading 2026, Frasers Plus Designer Outlet Swindon is inviting families to discover the magic of reading this summer with the launch of Summer of Stories, a free interactive experience designed to inspire imaginations, encourage a love of books and create memorable family moments throughout the school holidays.
Running every weekend from 25th July to 30th August, Summer of Stories will transform the outlet into a vibrant storytelling destination where families can enjoy live performances, themed activities and dedicated reading spaces so children can discover the magic of books in a fun and engaging way.
Each Saturday and Sunday, visitors can enjoy interactive storytelling sessions at 11am, 12pm, 2pm and 3pm, with performers bringing stories to life through immersive experiences that spark curiosity, creativity and imagination.
With a different story theme featured every weekend, families will have something new to experience with every visit. Central to the experience is a themed event space where children can meet Billy the Bookworm, browse the community book swap, and relax in a dedicated reading area, which will remain open throughout the summer for families to enjoy, even when performances aren't taking place.
Designed to encourage children to explore new adventures through reading, Summer of Stories offers the perfect opportunity for families to spend quality time together while supporting the aims of the National Year of Reading – a UK wide campaign encouraging people of all ages to rediscover the joy and benefits of reading.
Alongside the Summer of Stories programme, visitors can enjoy Designer Outlet Swindon's extensive range of designer brands, restaurants and cafés, making it the perfect destination for combining shopping, dining and family entertainment all in one place.

Summer of Stories is free to attend and runs every Saturday and Sunday from 25th July to 30th August.
