Last weekend 18-20 January 2019, Jake Turner, known as @jrturnerphotography on Instagram took over VisitWiltshire’s Instagram account to share his vision of Wiltshire.

Jake has a fantastic portfolio of images from across the county which you can see on his impressive Instagram page. Jake has always lived in Swindon, and enjoys living in a county which is fairly unknown photographically apart from major attractions like, Stonehenge, Avebury, Longleat and the Kennet & Avon Canal. He enjoys capturing shots showing off the quintessentially English rolling countryside and lots of areas that fill with mist of a morning. Jake likes that there are plenty of open spaces for walking and escaping from the 9-5 although he loves travelling further afield, you just can't beat the Wiltshire countryside. Take a look at his photos from the takeover below:

Baydon Wiltshire – ‘This image was taken in Baydon and sums up Wiltshire for me, with rolling countryside and beautiful views’

Liddington -  ‘I love winter, frosty mornings or even better a coating of snow makes our beautiful county sparkle. This was taken during the beast from the east last year near Liddington.’

Savernake Forest – ‘I love Savernake during the autumn, the colours are fantastic. This was taken before the sun broke the horizon meaning the fog still held a nice cold blue tone.’

Vale of Pewsey -  ‘A beautiful morning on Martinsell Hill looking across the Vale of Pewsey. This is my favourite place in Wiltshire, and is spectacular at sunrise.’

Roundway Down – ‘This image is of Roundway Down, near Devizes, the site of a battle in 1643 during the English civil war. These days it’s a beautiful place for a walk, with gorgeous views from its elevated position.’

Avebury - ‘A short drive out of Swindon and I’m in the beautiful village of Avebury. On a misty morning it’s hard to think of a better place to be, camera in hand, watching a new day begin'

Pewsey Wharf – ‘My last image to share with you is from a lovely Autumnal morning on the Kennet & Avon canal at Pewsey Wharf’
