It’s that time of year where we get to treat our good old Dad! They’re famously hard to buy for and impress, but Wiltshire as always, is here to help.

Father’s day offers

There are a number of special Father’s Day offers around on Sunday 16 June, so why not go out and treat him to slap up meal. The Best Western Angel Hotel in Chippenham, Woolley Grange Hotel and Bowood Hotel are all offering a 3 course Sunday lunch and drinks for under £30. Howard’s House Hotel near Tisbury are laying on an afternoon tea,  with a complimentary glass of beer! Or if your Dad is more of a Burger connoisseur, then Cosy Club in Salisbury has the offer for you.

Plenty to do

There are plenty of other events on that weekend which we’re sure Dad will love. There’s Taste of Corsham, a vibrant food festival showcasing the best in Wiltshire produce. He can hunt for a bargain at the Sunday Car Boot Sale in Salisbury Market Square. Gain some inspiration from Devizes Open Garden Weekend. Let his hair down at Forest Fest at Westonbirt Arboretum, where tickets are still available for Hacienda Classical, Paul Weller and Jack Savoretti.  Or you can treat him to a variety of healing treatments at Elements of Avebury.

Fancy a tipple?

Buying the ‘old man’ a pint is a sure fire way of getting into his good books and Wiltshire has a famously rich variety of pubs and inn’s spread across the county. There aren’t many better ways to spend a June afternoon or even relaxing in a tranquil pub garden. Or if you would like to go straight to the source why not take them to one of our breweries, distilleries or vineyards for a tour and tasting?

Planes, Trains and Automobiles

For those Dads who are ‘petrol heads’ and fancy themselves as the next Lewis Hamilton, you can treat them to a high-octane driving experience at Castle Combe Circuit or Wessex Raceway. If they prefer more classic cars you can hire one with Vintage Classics or admire a collection with vehicles dating back to the 1920’s at Atwell- Wilson Museum. If trains are more his thing, you can explore Wiltshire’s rich railway heritage at STEAM – Museum of the Great Western Railway and take a journey on the Swindon & Cricklade Railway. And don’t forget the two great collections of aircraft at Boscombe Down Aviation Collection and the Army Flying Museum.

Hit the Course

Spend some quality time together and enjoy a nice walk (hopefully not spoiled) around the golf course. June is the perfect time to tee off at one of Wiltshire’s fine courses. Bowood has a golf workshop the week after Father’s Day, so hopefully he can oil up that rusty swing and they also offers golf and spa breaks.

Get out and about

If you are stuck of things to do, and the weather is behaving itself you can simply get out and about around the county. You can take a Sunday stroll, cast off for a spot of fishing, explore the cycleway or even dust off the binoculars for a spot of bird watching. Wiltshire has plenty of activities on offer and places to explore.

Last minute gift?

If you you’re still stuck for something to get Dad then don’t worry, Wiltshire has something for everybody. McArthurGlenn Designer Outlet has over 100 shops offering discounted designer brands from Hugo Boss to Le Creuset  Or if he the finer things in life head to Regent Tailoring in Salisbury, discover some of the most prestigious brands in the fashion industry and discover an eclectic taste of drinks in the dedicated liquor section.

A father can be an exemplary role model for his son in many ways. He can teach his son the importance of hard work, honesty, and integrity. By demonstrating these values in his own life, a father can show his son how to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. By encouraging his son to pursue his passions and interests, a father can help him develop a strong sense of self-confidence and self-worth. Show your son an example of the style and image of a man.
