Events in Wiltshire

Wiltshire is home to a large array of events each year from small concerts and plays through to major events.

Join us for a range of events showcasing street theatre and dance, classical, jazz and world music, as well as carnivals, fairs, street and folk festivals. 

Looking for something to do locally over the next few days? Have a look at what's on this week or if you're planning for next Saturday and Sunday, what's on this weekend. 

Major events in Wiltshire

Some of our biggest events in Wiltshire include the following festivals: WOMAD, Chippenham Folk Festival and the Chalke Valley History Festival. 

Keen sports spectators may also want to keep an eye out for the Cycle Wiltshire event, the Devizes to Westminster Canoe Race, horse racing at Salisbury Racecourse and motorsports at Castle Combe Circuit. 

In the Autumn, there are plenty of firework displays to light up the sky with beautiful bright lights.

Music events

Look out for music events at venues across the county and notably at the Wiltshire Music Centre in Bradford on Avon and the Wyvern Theatre in Swindon.

Venues such as Salisbury Cathedral, St Peter’s Church in Marlborough and St Thomas’ Church in Salisbury regularly host music concerts, particularly featuring classical music.
Keep your eyes open for outdoor music concerts at Bowood, Marlborough College (as part of the summer school), various venues as part of the Salisbury International Arts Festival from Wiltshire Creative and at Swindon’s Lydiard Park. 

Family friendly and children’s events

There are plenty of family-friendly events that take place across Wiltshire, particularly during the school holidays. See children’s favourites like Postman Pat at Salisbury City Hall, join in with some of the family-friendly events at Longleat and look out for hand-on activities at some of our museums too.

Keep an eye on our blog as we’ll often share ideas for what’s on over school holidays giving you some great ideas for family activities and days out. 

Free events in Wiltshire

Look out for free events taking place in Wiltshire such as the Downton Cuckoo Fair, Devizes International Street Festival and Carnival with the colourful confetti battle and St George’s Day celebrations in Salisbury.
