Led by Peter Vaughan
Peter is passionate about creating delicious bread, whether for his family at home or for events where 150+ people can enjoy freshly made loaves. He knows a lot about ancient grains and different flours to use to change taste, texture and nutrition. He has spent time as a pastry chef in France, so understands about each ingredient and role it has to play in making the perfect product - plus what happens when you put them all together!
Ideally you would know the basics about bread making in order to get the most out of this session, as it will take you further into mastering the skills required for the trickier doughs. We all know now that manufactured bread products are ultra processed and we don't always know exactly what has gone into them. If you make your own, not only will they taste better, but they will be better for your body.
What will I learn to cook?
* English Muffins - just like the 'Muffin Man' in the song would sell!
* Lavash flatbread - finished with cumin and olive oil - delicious
* Pitta bread - fresh out of the oven it is glorious
* Classic Chelsea Buns - warm, sticky and fresh from the oven
* Croissants & Pain au Chocolat - laminated dough can also be used to make Danish Pastries
* Brioche - practice finishing a pre-dough and then make your own to finish off at home
