Salisbury events and what's on

As a city, Salisbury embraces the arts in the broadest sense with first-class venues offering quality entertainment throughout the year, from drama and dance to exhibitions and lectures. Salisbury is fortunate to enjoy a wide range of musical events, from classical recitals to jazz bands, folk singers to pop groups.

Festivals and cultural events in Salisbury

One of the major cultural events to take place each summer in Salisbury is the Ageas Salisbury International Arts Festival (end May-mid June) which brings with it a host of classical concerts, performances, theatre and participatory events.

Salisbury is also home to the Playhouse which offers an exciting programme of quality performances as well as the Salisbury Arts Centre and the City Hall with a year-round entertainment programme. On the outskirts of the city is the Studio Theatre, home to amateur theatre productions.

Crafts, food fayres and markets

Within the Cathedral Close the Salisbury Contemporary Craft and Heritage Festival is held and during a week in September the Salisbury Food & Drink Festival comes to the city with the highly popular food and drink market on the final day. Look out for food and craft fayres and regular markets held across the city too.

One-off events

Look out for one-off events which take place in and around the city and keep checking back as event are regularly added to our site.
