Mcarthurglen Designer Outlet Swindon at Christmas

Top Christmas Shopping Destinations
Wiltshire is home to one of the largest covered designer outlets in Europe, McArthurGlen’s Swindon Designer Outlet - the perfect destination to kick off your Christmas shopping this year. Here you will find both high street stores and designer brands, including the likes of Kurt Geiger, Superdry, Hugo Boss, John Lewis Home Outlet, and Yankee Candle. And the designer outlet will be gearing up for Christmas in style, with delightful decorations, an Artic Adventure and the chance for little shoppers to meet Father Christmas himself! Alternatively, why not head to Wilton Shopping Village where you will find a lovely selection of shops in a relaxed riverside environment; the perfect laidback location for some stress-free Christmas shopping.

Local and Independent Shops
Wondering where to find small, independent shops and unique boutiques for your Christmas shopping this year? If you're visiting the South of Wiltshire, Salisbury will be lit up for the festive season. On 15 November the Christmas decorations light up, casting a magical festive spell over the picture-perfect streets, packed with welcoming independent shops. At Casa Fina you will find gifts, home accessories and unique vintage items. Regent Tailoring stocks high-quality menswear and gifts, as well as sporting an offlicence selling exotic spirits and local brews. Fisherton Mill Gallery Shop is a treasure trove of handmade jewellery, ceramics and decorative items created by local artists; the perfect spot for finding one-of-a-kind Christmas presents.

Salisbury in the snow at Christmas

And Salisbury is not the only local centre to offer independent shops; Bradford on Avon, Corsham, Marlborough and Malmesbury are amongst Wiltshire's historic market towns where you can browse a wide range of independent retailers. In fact, all Wiltshire's towns offer fantastic options of where to shop!

For something a little different, Elements of Avebury is situated in the heart of the Avebury Stone Circle and sells jewellery, clothing and unique gifts. If you love shopping local, you'll be happy at Elements, where 80% of the products on sale are from Avebury and Wiltshire! Or why not consider doing your Christmas shopping at one of Wiltshire's lovely farm shops? Both Neston Park Farm Shop and Allington Farm Shop sell delicious locally-sourced food and drink, ideal for putting together a delightful Christmas hamper.

Christmas Markets and Fairs
Wander between pretty market stalls, pause to buy a hot chocolate or a piece of gingerbread, listen to the sound of carols being sung nearby - what could be a lovelier start to the festive season than a trip to a traditional Christmas market? Don't miss the delights of Salisbury Christmas Fayre which runs from 30 November to 24 December this year. There will be a host of wooden chalets in Salisbury's Market Place selling traditional festive foods to hand-crafted gifts. And there are other smaller Christmas markets taking place across Wiltshire this year, such as the Roves Farm Christmas Craft & Food Fair on 16 and 17 November. Head to Roves Farm shop for this weekend of great locally sourced seasonal food and drink alongside gifts from local designer-makers. There are also many one-off Christmas market events planned to coincide with the festive lights being switched on in many Wiltshire towns. Have a look at when the Christmas lights will be switched on in Wiltshire to find out more.

Make your own Gifts
Getting ready for Christmas doesn't have to mean Christmas shopping. If you would prefer to avoid the shops this year, why not consider giving your nearest and dearest handmade presents? Have a look at the programme of upcoming Christmas workshops at Arundells to learn how to make candles, crocheted snowflakes or Christmas wreaths. Or there's still time to book yourself onto a course at one of the high quality cookery schools in Wiltshire where you can find out how to make some delicious festive food and drink, sure to go down well as a handmade Christmas present.

Experiences and Gift Vouchers
We all have those friends who are hard to buy presents for! For those difficult customers, consider buying a gift voucher or an experience instead of a physical Christmas present. Gift them an afternoon tea at a lovely local cafe or tea room, or an indulgent treatment at a sumptuous spa. Thrillseekers will be over the moon with a skydiving experience from Skydive Netheravon or Go Skydive, while more cerebrial types will enjoy peacefully floating through the clouds on a hot air balloon ride from Aerosaurus Balloons
