A celebration of Calne’s industrial, social and built heritage with a daily programme of free events including:
- A town-wide Open Doors Day on Saturday 10th September, with the opportunity to step inside many historic buildings within Calne’s Heritage Quarter.
- A number of fascinating guided walks, booking essential.
- Discounted entry to Bowood House & Gardens (with voucher, terms apply) and Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum on Sunday 11th September.
The programme also includes a range of free activities for families, with Calne’s Animals Town Trail available throughout the week from Calne Heritage Centre. On Saturday 10th September families can get crafty and make outdoor dens and looms to take home with The Big Weave on The Green, plus children dressed as a character from the past can meet the Town Mayor and receive a certificate at 1pm at Calne Heritage Centre.
Free events from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th September are also part of the national Heritage Open Days event. Visitors to the town can enjoy two hours free parking in the Heritage Quarter Car Park accessed from the A4, with a further six month trial funded by Calne Town Council in effect until the New Year.
