1. Salisbury’s award-winning Christmas market with German chalets are back in full flow, they are open until the December 22 and there's lots of yummy treats, homemade gifts and local tipples to find

2. Made in Bradford on Avon, on 16 December, is a community project which houses over 100 local artists and artisans, plenty of handmade and local gifts to browse through 

3. Tis’ the season to be jolly, at Tisbury’s high street market! In the south west of Wiltshire Tisbury's Christmas market will be full of many festive delights, a mince pie eating contest, and the chance to meet Father Christmas

4. Ho ho ho! Can you hear those sleigh bells ringing? Pop into the American Museum to meet Santa in his grotto

5. At Trowbridge museum you can meet the traditional Father Christmas in his magical Christmas Grotto wearing his fur-trimmed green velvet robes

6.  Indulge in breakfast and tea with Father Christmas at the Hawk Conservancy this year, and meet two of his miniature donkeys and owls 

7. Have a magical day out at Longleat Festival of Light; the Santa train will be journeying to a magical grotto where you can meet Father Christmas and his elves in their forest home

Enjoy Festive Carols and Concerts 

8. BBC Wiltshire Carols at Salisbury Cathedral will be on 16 December, the Salisbury Plain Military Wives choir and the award-winning Aldbourne band will be there along with the Salisbury Cathedral Choir

9. Listen to traditional music and Christmas songs at the candlelit Marlborough Choral Society Christmas Concert, you can even have a singalong

10. Chippenham is hosting an event perfect for children where you can hear  ‘The Snowman’ music and meet Father Christmas

11. Wyvern Theatre pantomime this year is Peter Pan starring Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale) this will be running from 2-31 December

12. A fantastically written and designed Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime is coming to Salisbury Playhouse

13. Head to the Salisbury city hall to watch SLADE! Expect flamboyance and fun, the perfect Christmas shindig

Get Christmas party ready 

14. Be swept off your feet at one of Bowood’s Christmas party nights, indulge in a red carpet arrival, followed by an extravagant three course meal and then dance the night away!

15.  Come together and create a Christmas feast with your friends and family at the Farm Cookery School! If you’d prefer to sit back and relax you can watch a demonstration and taste the festive delights after 

16. Get your dancing shoes on and step back in time to the 80’s at Melksham’s Christmas Party, don’t forget your 80’s clothes!

Shop till you drop 

17. McArthurGlen Swindon offers fantastic brands at affordable prices, pick up that luxurious item for the brand loving pal

18. Stonehenge will be hosting a late night shopping on 13 December 2017 so make sure to head down pick up all the latest English Heritage goodies, including Stonehenge’s all new Barbour jackets!  

19. Marlborough is a great place for a shop and stroll. It has 200 stores all in the same place, from high street fashion brands to jewellers and more


20. Christmas trees, traditional decorations, a festive trail, and Father Christmas are all heading to Lacock Abbey this December. A woolly hat is definitely needed for wandering around the National Trust village, Lacock abbey grounds and Fox Talbot Museum!

21. Enjoy a winter ramble with archaeologist Dr Nick Snashall at Avebury’s stone circle walk on the 7 and 14 December. You can also experience it for yourself as the stone circle is open all year round

22. Head to Roundway Down near Devizes, to enjoy sweeping wintry views across the Wiltshire countryside, Wiltshire offers plenty of walks where you can appreciate the beautiful surroundings find out more here

Eat, drink and be Merry

23. Warm up with a cup of Mulled wine and traditional bratwurst at one of our Christmas markets 

24. Test our local tipples at Wadworth Brewery, go on a tour and find out what makes these local beers taste so good

25. Tuck into some homemade bread at The Bell at Ramsbury, a picturesque 300-year-old former coaching inn and voted AA hospitality pub of the year 

26. Just outside the county is Bombay Sapphire distillery, here you can learn about the botanicals that go into the gin, and even find out which gin cocktail suits you 

See a decorated stately home

27. Enjoy a Christmas guided tour of Avebury Manor to see how Christmas was celebrated throughout the ages

28. Sip some mulled wine and mince pies at the tea room in Mompesson House and walk around the grandly decorated festive rooms

29. Longleat House will have the rooms decorated in Elizabethan fashion, inside each room there's a Christmas character showing you what it would have been like in its heyday

30. See all the elegant State Rooms at Lydiard House adorned with traditional foliage, decorations, Christmas trees and a classic a kissing ball!
