Welcome to Timeless Wiltshire.

It's time for Wiltshire

Planning a Visit to Wiltshire

There are so many things to do in Wiltshire! Find out what's on in Wiltshire during your trip. On the ‘must see’ list of things to do during your visit is the traditional and original medieval city of Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral, as well as Longleat and the National Trust sites including Stourhead and Lacock.

Wiltshire has been a special place for a very long time and our World Heritage Site stands testament to the ages. The ancient standing stones at Stonehenge and Avebury have a magnetism that has drawn people to them for centuries. But history in Wiltshire is not just ancient. Romans, Normans and Saxons have all left their mark on our countryside and towns. Walk through time on your visit to Wiltshire. Touch and feel the past. Be inspired with what Wiltshire has to offer from the past to the present day.

Wiltshire is an enchanted place where you feel close to the earth and the ever-changing big skies. Renowned for our iconic white horses carved into the rolling downs, almost half of Wiltshire is designated a National Landscape and there are numerous ways to enjoy our quintessentially English countryside, from walking, cycling and horse-riding to fishing, golf, canal boat trips and more. Find your way using our maps and guides.

Need more inspiration? Plan your visit or have a look at our ideas and inspiration pages for more things to do during your Wiltshire holiday.

With so many food and drink options you can relax with friends and family while sampling our traditional Wiltshire specialities at cute cafes and tearooms, welcoming pubs and inns and fantastic restaurants.

Wiltshire is a beautiful and diverse county with a thriving arts scene covering theatre, cinemas, arts centres and more. Our extensive programme of festivals and events draws on past times as well as the present. Enjoy a little retail therapy at the designer and factory outlets in Swindon and Wilton or browse the many independent retailers to be found in our charming market towns.

Wiltshire today is calming, comforting and refreshing. A weekend or short break here will help put back in what the rest of the week has taken out. So when you visit you can press pause and let time stand still. What’s more, Wiltshire is only an hour and a half, or less, from London making it the ideal location for a staycation weekend away in the UK. Plus there are so many accommodation options here you will quickly feel at ease. Choose from the array of bed and breakfasts, self-catering accommodation, glamping, caravan parks and camp sites and hotels in Wiltshire. Make sure to check out our special offers as well to make the most out of your visit.

Wiltshire is home to timeless wonders, timeless nature, timeless places and timeless pleasures. Soon it will be once again time to come and see us. Explore our villages, towns and countryside and write your chapter in Wiltshire’s never ending story.

Keep up to date with all the lates information on this beautiful county on our blog or follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
