You’ve probably already worked out that mum is passionate about making sure everybody is able to get involved with activities all around the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site.

Last weekend (7-9 September) Matt Tyrer, known on Instagram funnily enough as @matt.tyrer, took over our Instagram account to share his vision of Wiltshire.

On Sunday 16th September, the team from VisitWiltshire got together with IgersWiltshire for an animal themed Instameet. Buttle Farm, a rare breed pig farm with farm stay accommodation near Calne, kindly invited us to see their pigs and 10 gorgeous piglets.

Wiltshire has some true hidden gems tucked away for ambitious foodies. Whether it’s food festivals, Michelin star restaurants, quaint tea rooms or cookery schools, Wiltshire has the WOW factor when it comes to food and drink. It’s worth taking time to allow your taste buds to tingle and be infused with wonderful flavours that are sitting right on our doorstep. Next month is the Salisbury Literary Festival from 17-22nd October. Tom Bromley, the organiser of the event, has written a blog around the literary history surrounding the medieval city of Salisbury.

We've delved into the fantastic collection of old photographs from Salisbury Museum, to see the historical city of Salisbury in past and present day. From flooding to historical processions and peace pageants it's fascinating to see how the beautiful city has changed through the ages, and in someways not changed at all!
