Blog (Christmas) - Visit Wiltshire

As I arrived in Calne on a cold but sunny November’s day, armed with a GoPro, smart phone and SLR camera I was keen to explore some of the town’s historic quarter on such a pretty day.

We all know that Christmas can be an expensive time of year but it doesn’t have to be. Here in Wiltshire there are plenty of suggestions of things to do, events to check out and low cost activities you can do to help save the pennies over the coming weeks. Here are some of our suggestions…

An unseasonably warm Friday, December evening found Mr H and I heading to the panto! Stopping en route at Swindon Designer Outlet for some bargain Christmas presents in lovely festive surroundings, we arrived at the Wyvern Theatre in time for a warming drink to get us in the mood for the panto.

A cold, grey December evening calls for something special to brighten it up, and Mr H and I found just that in Swindon on Tuesday evening.

I was lucky enough to attend the launch night and as I descended from the main road into the Longleat estate I could spot the lanterns in the distance, immediately I was surprised by just how big some of the were!
